Need Info on Surrogacy – Please help

Post by redsky » Tue Jun 02, 2020 1:20 pm

Hi there! I’m 38 y.o. and I’m from the Upper Midwest of America. I’m infertile and none of my attempts to get pregnant was successful. I had already had 3 miscarriages. And it’s so terrible feelings and state of mind after such situations…
my husband and I think about surrogate motherhood. But it’s not enough inly to want. I see that there are so many questions to get to know. For example, where to find surrogate mother, whether it’s needed my lawyer or not, who will pay surrogate mother… Girls, please, give a little light upon this issue if someone knows more about surrogacy.

I'd advise consulting with a lawyer first. Costs and sm' payouts can be complicated. Many things should be taken into consideration. All details should be worked out and calculated. So it's better to seek a specialist.

Except what you are concerned about, I think there are other things you need to know about how to use surrogacy.
The American Society for Reproductive Medicine says a surrogate should get a medical exam to check that she's likely to have a healthy, full-term pregnancy. The organization suggests she gets tests that check for infectious diseases such as syphilis, gonorrhea, chlamydia, HIV, cytomegalovirus, and hepatitis B and C.
Surrogates should get tests to make sure they have immunity to measles, rubella (German measles), and chickenpox. Also, you may want to ask that she get a medical procedure to visually "map" the uterus, which can help the doctor check her potential to carry a pregnancy. A surrogate mother should have her own doctor during pregnancy rather than use yours.
The cost of surrogacy can range from $80,000 to $120,000. A lot of different things go into the price, such as whether the surrogate has her own medical insurance or whether you need to buy a surrogacy-pregnancy policy for her.

Hello, how do you do? What are the reasons for your multiple MC? There are a lot of ways to go. Such as IVF, ICSI, IUI, etc. Have you already tried them? I think it’s a good idea to try ‘em first. If you want to find a surrogate mother, you should contact a surrogate agency (I’m not sure that it’s a good idea to look for them on Facebook). There is a good clinic in Ukraine, where you can find everything you want. My advice is to contact them. Have luck on your side.

Oh dear, it is a pity you had numerous miscarriages. But, anyway, don’t give up! Surrogacy is really a great opportunity and a needed option just in your case. You know, you need not look for a surrogate mother by yourself.
Most centers for human reproduction can do it. I mean clinics that conduct surrogacy programs have their own base of surrogate mothers. But, of course, you can find this woman by yourself if you want or you already have a person who will agree to carry your baby.

Hi, I understand what you're going through. I had a hysterectomy after the birth of my son. It took a long time to recover physically and mentally. We always wanted to have more kids but everything turned in an unexpected way.
We've discussed the adoption route, we even reached few adoption agencies, but it turned out that adoption is so complicated, time and money-consuming, and the most disincentive was that there are no guarantees for a match and final green light for adoption.
All our friends were suggesting surrogacy, but we never took it that seriously.
Eventually, we started exploring this option, we've consulted with different clinics, agencies not only in the US but abroad too.
We contacted a few agencies in Georgia Ukraine and Russia. Talking to most of them was a pleasure, to our surprise we were met with high standards of care and service. We really considering to go with one of those clinics

I think surrogacy is a great option in your case. I'd advise going abroad. Surrogacy is very expensive in the US. You could look into Georgia or Ukraine. I had IVF in a Ukrainian clinic. I'm pretty much satisfied. Good luck!

Hello Dear, I am in the same shoes. According to my view, Surrogacy is the best option. No doubt, It's expensive in some countries. I'm considering surrogacy from Europe for the 2nd time. This time I want a baby boy. Whereas, Clinics in Europe offer affordable prices as well as good services. In spite of that contacting a lawyer before this is much safer and secure...
